Luxury Vinyl Plank in Polk County, FL

Waterproof, tough, looks like wood.

Luxury vinyl plank for kitchens, baths, basements, and busy households. The floor we put in our own homes for a reason.

LVP is the floor that changed everything. Waterproof to the core, tough enough for kids and dogs, and detailed enough that most people can't tell it from real wood at arm's length. It clicks together over almost any subfloor and handles spills, splashes, and Florida humidity without complaint.

Why LVP

  • Waterproof

Top to bottom waterproof core. Spills sit on the surface until you wipe them up. Safe for kitchens, baths, and laundries.

  • Tough as it gets

Scratch and dent resistant. Stands up to claws, kid toys, dropped pans, and dragged furniture better than most hard floors.

  • Looks like wood

Embossed grain, beveled edges, and realistic plank widths. From a few feet away, most LVP reads as real hardwood.

  • Comfortable underfoot

Softer than tile or stone. Warmer than hardwood in winter. Easy on the joints if you're standing in the kitchen a lot.

  • Quiet to walk on

Dense planks with attached underlayment quiet footfall — closer to carpet than hardwood for noise.

  • Goes nearly anywhere

Over concrete slab, plywood subfloor, even over many existing hard surfaces. Click-lock floating install on most jobs.

Care

Living with it.

Sweep or vacuum regularly. Damp-mop with plain water or a manufacturer-approved cleaner. Skip the steam mop and the harsh chemicals — they're the only things that really hurt LVP. Felt pads under furniture protect the wear layer indefinitely.

Installation

Putting it down.

Most LVP jobs take a day or two. Click-lock planks float over a level subfloor — no nails, no glue. We assess the floor, address any leveling issues, and lay the planks with proper expansion gaps. Transitions and baseboards finish the install. You can walk on it the same day.

LVP questions

  • Is LVP really waterproof?

The core is. Standing water won't damage the planks themselves. But water can still get to whatever is under the floor through seams over enough time — so wipe up spills and major leaks promptly. For practical purposes, it's the closest thing to a fully waterproof floor short of tile.

  • Can I install LVP over my existing tile?

Often, yes. If the tile is sound, flat, and the height transition works at doorways, LVP can float right over it. We check on the in-home measure.

  • How does LVP compare to laminate?

LVP is waterproof; laminate is not. LVP handles bathrooms and basements; laminate is best in dry rooms. Both look great. Both install quickly. LVP usually costs a little more — and is worth it in most Florida homes.

  • How long does LVP last?

A quality LVP floor lasts twenty to thirty years in a residential home. Commercial grades go even longer. Warranties from the brands we carry typically run lifetime for residential.

  • Where can I get luxury vinyl plank installed in Polk County, FL?

We install LVP across all of Polk County — Winter Haven, Lakeland, Auburndale, Bartow, Haines City, Davenport, Lake Alfred, and Lake Wales. LVP is the most-installed floor we put in county-wide because it handles Florida humidity, slab construction, and busy households.

  • Is luxury vinyl plank flooring really waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. LVP is built around a non-porous plastic core (rigid SPC or WPC in the better products), and water sits on top of it without soaking in. That's why it's the floor we put in our own kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and Florida lakefront homes around the Chain of Lakes, Lake Ariana, and the rest of Polk County's waterfront properties. Spills, pet accidents, and humidity don't damage it.

  • Does luxury vinyl plank flooring increase home value?

Yes, when chosen and installed well. LVP doesn't add resale value the way real hardwood does, but it does protect home value — modern buyers expect waterproof flooring in kitchens and baths, and a builder-grade laminate or worn carpet drags asking prices down. A good LVP install reads as new and move-in-ready, which is what most resale appraisers and buyers respond to in Florida.
