The tips

  1. 01

    Arrival time

Our installers typically arrive between 9:00 and 10:00 AM unless we've discussed a different time at the time of purchase.

  2. 02

    Electronics

Where you have entertainment centers, offices, or other electronic setups in the install area, please disconnect and reconnect any wires and cables prior to and after installation. Our crew works around the equipment but doesn't disconnect or rewire it.

  3. 03

    Furniture

Remove as much furniture as you can from the install area before we arrive. The less we move, the faster we finish — and the less risk to your belongings. If you'd rather we handle it, no problem: furniture moving is $55 per room for normal furniture. Pianos, large entertainment centers, sleep-number beds, hospital beds, and aquariums are an additional charge. Just ask in advance.

  4. 04

    Storage tip

Bathtubs make great temporary storage for small breakables during install day.

  5. 05

    Valuables and small items

Pack up valuables, knickknacks, photos, and small items from dressers, tables, bookshelves, and entertainment centers. Heirlooms and sentimental pieces especially — packing them ahead saves your installer time and prevents breakage.

  6. 06

    Closets

Clean the closet bottoms and remove long clothing and shoes from anywhere the new floor needs to go.

  7. 07

    Beds

Strip all sheets, blankets, and pillows from beds in the install area. We move the bed frame; you handle the bedding.

  8. 08

    Walls

Remove loose objects and wall hangings near the install area. Vibration from cutting and stretching can shake things loose.

  9. 09

    Dust expectations

Some dust is inevitable. Carpet, LVP, and laminate installs produce light dust. Tile and hardwood produce more — especially when we're removing old ceramic or porcelain. We protect what we can and clean up before we leave.

Day-of expectations

We'll text or call when the crew is on the way. We arrive, confirm the scope with you, lay protective coverings on paths we'll be walking, and get to work. We clean up before we leave. If anything looks off, tell us before we go.
