Shaw Builder Flooring is the new-construction and builder division of Shaw Industries, headquartered in Dalton, Georgia. Shaw's roots go back to 1946, when Clarence Shaw ran a small dye operation near Dalton. His sons expanded the business, acquired the Philadelphia Carpet Company in 1967, and renamed the enterprise Shaw Industries. The company reached the Fortune 500 by the mid-1980s, and in 2001 it became part of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett's holding company.
Today Shaw generates roughly 6 billion dollars in annual sales and employs around 22,000 people worldwide. Shaw Builder Flooring serves home builders of every size with carpet, resilient vinyl, engineered hardwood, laminate, and tile.
