Amtico, specified and installed for commercial spaces.
Design-led luxury vinyl tile for retail, hospitality, and workplace interiors.
British luxury vinyl since 1964
Amtico was founded in 1964 in Coventry, England, as a joint venture between Courtaulds, a British textile and chemicals company, and American Biltrite. The name is a short form of American Tile Company, and the factory was built on the site of a former car plant. From the start, Amtico focused on luxury vinyl tile, a material that could convincingly mimic stone, wood, and ceramic while shrugging off moisture in ways natural materials could not.
Courtaulds took full ownership of the UK business by the end of the 1960s. The company kept developing the product, opened its first overseas office in Germany in 1991, and added U.S. manufacturing in Georgia in 1993. A management buyout in 1996 gave the company independence for over a decade, and in 2012 Mannington Mills, the fifth-generation family flooring maker from New Jersey, acquired Amtico International.
Today Amtico sells into more than 130 countries and remains one of the few luxury vinyl companies that designs and manufactures in the UK. Every product passes a long series of quality checks before it leaves Coventry. The main families are Amtico Signature, Form, Spacia, and a PVC-free option, with commercial warranties up to 20 years and realistic, deeply embossed wood and stone graining.
Amtico appeals to homeowners who want a floor that looks genuinely premium, not just functional. The understated British design works well in the renovations Blackburn's handles across Polk County, from lakefront homes to updated ranch houses, for clients who want a step up without the upkeep of natural stone or solid hardwood.
