Marquis Industries, an integrated Georgia mill
Marquis Industries opened in 1997 in Chatsworth, Georgia, in the heart of North Georgia carpet country. The company was built around a simple idea: control the whole process. From the start, Marquis ran its own yarn extrusion, its own twisting and heat-setting, and its own tufting and finishing. That kind of integrated manufacturing is rare and expensive to build, and it gives Marquis direct control over fiber quality, color, and performance at every step.
Today Marquis runs more than 1.2 million square feet of manufacturing across several North Georgia counties, one of the newer and more efficient integrated carpet mills in the country. It produces solution-dyed polyester and nylon for residential carpet, along with printed carpets for commercial work. In 2008 it expanded into hard surfaces, including luxury vinyl, laminate, and rigid core, becoming a more complete supplier.
Marquis grew into one of the top residential carpet manufacturers in the United States. In 2015, the holding company Live Ventures acquired Marquis, which at the time was generating around 60 million dollars in annual sales and had been profitable for more than 20 years running. Marquis operates today as a subsidiary of Live Ventures. Residential carpet carries lifetime limited stain resistance plus 10-year limited texture and wear coverage.
Marquis is a natural fit for Central Florida homes. The solution-dyed fiber stands up to humidity and resists fading from bright indoor light, which matters in homes with big windows.
