The story
SEMCO Construction brought us in for the DeSoto County Courthouse, a commercial flooring scope that required tight coordination inside an active government facility.
We installed 1,600 square feet of heavy-duty commercial carpet tile on the courthouse floor and VCT in the elevator. Each material was spec'd for where it would live: carpet tile for the foot traffic of a working courthouse, VCT for the hard use an elevator floor takes.
Floor prep was a significant part of the job. The substrate required patching before either material could go down. That work has to be done right or nothing above it stays flat. The install went clean and on schedule.
